Birthdayz and college stuffs

Thu Nov 5, 2009, 10:55 PM
So I figure, hey, why not actually update my journal with something about me? Intriguing concept, that.

So yeah, I think I can actually do this college thing...TLU is turning out to be quite a bit harder than Lamar, but I might /might/ MIGHT be able to make it out of this semester without my scholarship going on academic probation. I honestly have no clue what I'd do without that money. Drop out of college I assume.

I hope everyone's been kinds sorta maybe enjoying my pictures/stories lately. Not that I've ever cared about that before. :XD:

So yeah, I think I have a job at TLU - I go to events held on campus and take pictures, give the pictures to my boss, and get paid. Simple, really. Essentially, I'm getting paid for something I'd do anyway.

I turned 19 yesterday (well, day before cuz it's past midnight. It was pretty normal til I was kidnapped by my freaking awesome friends. My first ever surprise birthday party. Pretty much epic win.

I've been bored since my roommate isn't back yet, so I'm looking at PLZ accounts. Kind of sad, actually, how many there are. Here are a few good ones...okay maybe not good, but they gave me amusement, albeit slight.

Thu Oct 22, 2009, 8:31 PM
So after sitting on the entries for awhile, and lamenting the fact that we got a grand total of 2 entries, the other judges :iconlittle-dove: and :iconthedonquixotic: and I finally came up with a winner.

And the winner of the first (and possibly last) Fixed Form, Unfixed Subject Poetry Challenge is...

Her wonderful poem about the Mola Mola can be found here: [link]

A close runner up, not just because she was the only other participant, but because her poem was also wonderful, is the amazing...

34 Days!

Thu Aug 27, 2009, 8:22 PM
What up my peeps? I is in the hiz-ouse! Get that par-tay started!

Now that I've finished /that/...
Oi! You! Don't forget the poetry contest. I've gotten very few entries, and it'll be a rather boring contest if no one enters. Here's a link again, in case you missed it.

Now enter. Please? You've only got 34 days left!

So now about me. I'm enrolled at Texas Lutheran University this semester, taking all my lovely upper-level classes. This involves a bunch of reading, but I don't really have that many friends yet ( :( ) so I should still be able to keep up with online things fairly well. I'm taking a creative writing of fiction class this semester, so for those of you who kept up with my poetry from last semester's creative writing of poetry class, you may get some short stories every so often. They'll be upwards of 3 pages in length though, so it might take some planning to actually sit down and read them. They'll be worth your time though. I promise you that.
I'm going to post a few pictures of the campus after I finish this journal, so you can get a fairly decent view of what I'm living around. For those of you who are Facebook friends, I've got videos of campus up for you to check out. My honors directed readings class is going on a field trip this coming Monday to an abandoned park project. If I get a chance, I'm going to snap a few photos. Whether or not they'll be of artistic quality is another matter entirely, however, so you may or may not see them.
Andi is in New Jersey this year, and the long distance thing is going to be rather taxing. So if you hear any pining on my part, get over it. :P
I inadvertently bought skinny jeans the other day. Something I thought I'd never do. They're...odd. I could get used to it if I wanted to, but I don't think I'll be buying any more of them anytime soon.
The book I'm reading for my honors class is...weird. It's about what would happen if humans just suddenly disappeared. It gives you a rather surreal feeling aferwards. Hence my mood. Dazed and detached...
